Seth’s Biography
Background
A native of Peoria, IL Seth developed a passion for photography after moving to Chicago in 2004.
On the professional front, Seth obtained a BS in Instructional Technology from Western Illinois University, and an MBA in Marketing. He worked in the insurance industry for four years, until he realized he needed to do something that satisfied his creative passion. He put his efforts into achieving his dream and launched his photography business in 2008.
Achieving the Dream
Seth got his first professional photography job in 2008 as a photographer for Loyola University Chicago. Since then, he quickly developed a reputation as one of Chicago’s most sought-after photographers.
Seth has worked on a variety of assignments, including musician photo shoots, mixtape covers, projects, and sports. He has also had his photos used for editorial publications and works with several non-profit organizations.
The Artist Within
Along with a strong work ethic, Seth brings an urban sophistication and superior sensitivity to detail to his photography. Clients frequently note his ability to put them at ease during shooting, which helps enable Seth to capture the true essence of his subjects.
Seth’s style is one that stands out from others, since he has a strong artistic influence. He uses a variety of angles and colors to make his photographs more involved than what originally meets the eye. Most of all, he has the ability and creative vision to capture the moment on film, allowing both the subject and the moment to shine through.
Art Meets Passion
Other than his love of photography, Seth also has a passion for music. Being stuck in a cubicle day after day for four years, music is what helped Seth maintain his sanity. While most everyone enjoys music, Seth feels so strongly about it that he wanted to include that in his work. That’s when he realized he could combine both of his loves: photography and music.
After teaming up with Lara Phillips, and creating Chicago Hip Hop Exposure, they became a team that could meet both the needs of musicians and fans alike, by providing various services for both.
Seth knows what it’s like to take a dream and turn it into a reality. And it is his hope that he can continue to do so; but more importantly, that he can use his talents to help others do the same.
